DESCRIPTION

The 882SBTG is a sturdy liner lock folding utility knife specifically designed for police work. The blade is made from high strength ATS-34 stainless steel. The handle is made of G-10 that has been textured to ensure a positive grip.

DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

The Model 882SBT culminates from the combined feedback of exhaustive interviews with more than four-dozen professional law enforcement agencies throughout the United States (from patrol officers to upper admin). The interviews covered the selection, carrying, safe handling, proper usage and maintenance of a police utility knife and yielded valuable data regarding the most asked-for features of a folding knife specifically for police work. The data gathered was the basis for the unique design of the 882SBT. Specifically built to fit this tall order, the 882SBT is the best in its class and available at a reasonable cost.

Carried as part of an officer's uniformed presence, seen by the public and used in public, a police utility knife is employed by officers on duty and frequently off duty as well. Such a knife must be sturdy and reliable enough to withstand the rigors of police work, but must also be safe and user-friendly for all officers, regardless of physical stature. Worn upon the uniform with other equipment, a police utility knife must be compatible with the uniform and displayed in a professional, yet subdued manner. The knife must be easily and safely accessible for use in police activities.

Working closely with Steve Tarani and Strider Knives®, our mission was to design a knife that was capable of handling the demands of police work and yet versatile enough for tactical, rescue and emergency response applications. Tarani is a Senior Defensive Tactics Instructor and policy advisor to military and federal, state and municipal law enforcement agencies. Strider Knives owners Mick Strider and Duane Dwyer are former military Special Operations Forces personnel who now design and create high-end tactical knives for military, law enforcement and professional service organizations.
